SPIRIT CONTROLLED TEMPERAMENTS
SPIRIT CONTROLLED
TEMPERAMENTS
Temperament provides both our strengths and weaknesses. God has given Christians the Holy Spirit, Who is able to improve our natural strengths and overcome our weaknesses – as we co-operate with Him.
The real you.
The 4 temperaments: Sanguine, Choleric, Melancholy and
Phlegmatic, were first identified in Proverbs 30:11-14 when the wise man saw
four kinds of people. About five hundred years later, the four were given names
by Hippocrates, the father of modern medicine. Temperament is the combination
of inborn traits that subconsciously affects all our behavior. It is a person’s
temperament that makes that person outgoing and extrovertish or shy and
introvertish. Character is the real you. The Bible refers to it as “the hidden
person of the heart” 1 Pet. 3:4. It is the result of your natural temperament
modified by childhood training, education, and basic attitudes, beliefs,
principles, and motivations. It is sometimes referred to as “the soul” which is
your mind (Imagination and memory), emotions and will. At the Palace of Creativity
Youth Center this coming Sunday we shall be having a short overview of the 4
temperaments which I must point out is not a perfect fool-proof theory, though
no theory of human behavior is. For prayers and counselling opportunities please

What is the Christian life supposed to be like? By Praise
WHAT IS THE CHRISTIAN LIFE SUPPOSED TO BE LIKE?
- The Christian life is supposed to be a life lived by faith. It is by faith that we enter into the Christian life, and it is by faith that we live it out. When we begin the Christian life by coming to Christ for forgiveness of sin, we understand that what we seek cannot be obtained by any other means than by faith. We cannot work our way to heaven, because nothing we could ever do would be sufficient. Those who believe they can attain eternal life by keeping rules and regulations—a list of do’s and don’ts—deny what the Bible clearly teaches. “But that no one is justified by the Law in the sight of God is clear, for, ‘The just shall live by faith’" (Galatians 3:11). The Pharisees of Jesus’ day rejected Christ because He told them this very truth, that all their righteous deeds were worthless and that only faith in their Messiah would save them.
- In Romans 1, Paul says that the gospel of Jesus Christ is the power that saves us, the gospel being the good news that all who believe in Him will have eternal life. When we enter into the Christian life by faith in this good news, we see our faith grow as we come to know more and more about the God who saved us. The gospel of Christ actually reveals God to us as we live to grow closer to Him each day. Romans 1:17 says, “For in the gospel a righteousness from God is revealed, a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: ‘The righteous will live by faith.’” So part of the Christian life is diligent reading and study of the Word, accompanied by prayer for understanding and wisdom and for a closer, more intimate relationship with God through the Holy Spirit.
- The Christian life is also supposed to be one of death to self in order to live a life by faith. Paul told the Galatians, “I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me” (Galatians 2:20). Being crucified with Christ means that we consider our old nature as having been nailed to the cross and we choose to live in the new nature, which is Christ’s (2 Corinthians 5:17). He who loved us and died for us now lives in us, and the life we live is by faith in Him. Living the Christian life means sacrificing our own desires, ambitions, and glories and replacing them with those of Christ. We can only do this by His power through the faith that He gives us by His grace. Part of the Christian life is praying to that end.
- The Christian life is also supposed to persevere to the end. Hebrews 10:38-39 addresses this issue by quoting from the Old Testament prophet Habakkuk: “Now the just shall live by faith; But if anyone draws back, My soul has no pleasure in him.” God is not pleased with one who “draws back” from Him after making a commitment, but those who live by faith will never draw back, because they are kept by the Holy Spirit who assures us that we will continue with Christ until the end (Ephesians 1:13-14). The writer of Hebrews goes on to verify this truth in verse 39: “But we are not of those who draw back to perdition, but of those who believe to the saving of the soul.” The true believer is one who believes to the end.
So the Christian life is one lived by faith in the God who saved us, empowers us, seals us for heaven, and by whose power we are kept forever. The day-to-day life of faith is one that grows and strengthens as we seek God in His Word and through prayer and as we unite with other Christians whose goal of Christlikeness is similar to our own.
5 Life-Changing Truths to Help You Discover Your True Identity By Praise
5 Life-Changing Truths to Help You Discover Your True Identity
You’ve probably heard the phrase…”I need to find myself”…or, “I lost myself”…or, “I don’t know who I am.” Every person who has ever lived has probably grappled with these types of questions. Maybe you’ve found yourself asking those same questions. So…do you have an answer yet? Who are you…really?
Before you try to answer, stop and think. Strip away what you have achieved, what you own and what you do… and search yourself—who are you? If you’ve accepted Jesus as your Savior, and you say, “I am a redeemed child of God who lives and exists ‘in Christ,’” praise God! You understand a powerful truth that changes the way you relate to God, the world and even yourself.
However, if you haven’t accepted Christ or can’t answer that question at all…or maybe you understand that you’re redeemed but don’t know what it means to be ‘in Christ,’ you’re in for an exciting revelation. You are about to learn what it means to be in Christ and it will change… your… life!
Below are five truths that will help you discover your true identity in Christ.
You have a new identity.
“For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago. Don’t forget that you Gentiles used to be outsiders. You were called ‘uncircumcised heathens’ by the Jews, who were proud of their circumcision, even though it affected only their bodies and not their hearts. In those days you were living apart from Christ. You were excluded from citizenship among the people of Israel, and you did not know the covenant promises God had made to them. You lived in this world without God and without hope. But now you have been united with Christ Jesus. Once you were far away from God, but now you have been brought near to him through the blood of Christ.” –Ephesians 2:10-13
First of all, when you accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you became a new person. No, you didn’t receive a new physical body, but you did receive a new spiritual one. At the time of salvation, your spirit was re-created in Christ Jesus; you were born of God. You were given a new identity in Christ.
In the above passage, it says that you are God’s workmanship, “created anew in Christ Jesus.” The word created in that passage is the same word used in Genesis 1:1 where God created the heavens and the earth. Believe it or not, He used that same creative power to fashion your new spirit man!
You are delivered.
“He has enabled you to share in the inheritance that belongs to his people, who live in the light. For he has rescued us from the kingdom of darkness and transferred us into the Kingdom of his dear Son, who purchased our freedom and forgave our sins.” –Colossians 1:12-14
Because of what Jesus did for you on the cross, sin no longer has any hold on you, and this world and all its traps have no power over you. You have been freed from the darkness of this world! The devil may try to convince you otherwise, but God and His Word will always hold true, and as you walk in faith, you will overcome every trap the enemy sends your way.
You are a joint heir.
“For his Spirit joins with our spirit to affirm that we are God’s children. And since we are his children, we are his heirs. In fact, together with Christ we are heirs of God’s glory. But if we are to share his glory, we must also share his suffering.” –Romans 8:16-17
When you accepted Jesus, you became one in spirit with Him. In other words, when God looks at Jesus, He sees you. Jesus didn’t only come into your life; you came into His. At that moment, you joined with Him to become part of Him, or as John 15:7, KJV, says, you are now abiding in Him.
You are holy and without fault.
“Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes.” –Ephesians 1:4
Since you are part of Jesus, you are holy and blameless. God doesn’t look at you and see all your shortcomings. He doesn’t shake His head in disappointment or disgust because you’re not living up to some celestial measuring stick. No, He sees you through Christ—holy and without fault in His eyes.
You are worthy.
“So we praise God for the glorious grace he has poured out on us who belong to his dear Son.” –Ephesians 1:6
Meditate on that verse a moment—God accepts you… just as you are, because you belong to Christ. He doesn’t accept you and deem you worthy because of your efforts, but rather, because of Jesus’. Because of Jesus, you are worthy and accepted and righteous by God’s grace.
All of this—and so much more—is available to you because you are in Christ. Begin studying what is available to you as a child of God. To help, check out the Real Help article, “What’s It Mean to Be In Christ? A Study of Ephesians 1.” Let the Holy Spirit minister the truth of who you are in Christ while the Word rewires how you think of yourself. Then you can face every day with the understanding that you are blood-bought and overcoming in Him!

UNVEILING THE MYSTERY SINGLENESS by Kay Daniels
UNVEILING THE MYSTERY SINGLENESS
Singleness” is a
myth. To be truly single means to be all one (alone), separate,
unique, and whole.
~~~
No human being can
meet your ego, soul, or spiritual needs; you might as well settle all of that
with
God. You are fit or
ready for marriage only when you are totally fulfilled in Him.
~~~
Until you are a
separate, single, unique, and whole person, you are not ready to marry!
~~~
Many have confused
“singleness” with “being alone.” There should never be a time when you
cease to be a single
being who is unique and whole.
~~~
If a state of
singleness means “to be unique and whole,” then to be totally single should be
every
Christian’s number
one goal.
~~~
Instead of running
from being single, you should be running toward singleness.
~~~
In Genesis 2:18, God
said “It is not good that man should bealone.” He didn’t say it wasn’t good
for him to be single.
There is a profound difference between the two.
~~~
To not be alone, all
you need are other humans to be your companions and close friends.
~~~
Marriage was not
instituted to solve the problems of being alone—human beings were created as
an answer to that
problem.
~~~
Many would be wise to
consider Adam in reference to singleness. He was so totally unique and
whole that he did not
even know that he was alone.
~~~
The vast majority of
marital problems arise because a husband or wife (or both) has not seen
himself or herself as
a unique, worthy individual—that is, he or she had a bad self-image, was not
whole or separate,
and always depended on some other person for happiness. They never maximized
their singleness.
~~~
Marriage will not
solve “aloneness.” Many people are in nonworking marriages in which they pray
to become free, sleep
in separate beds, or operate in tension. Marriages like that create more
aloneness than those
who are single could ever fathom.
~~~
God will not choose
your mate for you. If He did, that would violate the free will and power of
choice He gave you.
~~~
If God chose your
mate for you, He would be taking responsibility for your relationship; then, if
it
failed, the blame
could be transferred to Him. God only presents; you choose.
~~~
Many people are
misguided by the misconception that God has created only one specific person on
this planet for them
to marry. That means the odds are one in six billion for you to find that
“right
one.”
~~~
If God has chosen one
individual out of six billion on this planet just for you, and He did so
without
your knowledge and
permission (and without the other person’s), then why would He not also choose
salvation for you? That
is a much more vital area of your life.
~~~
Whether or not you
use the Word, wisdom, or the characteristics of God’s nature to make your
choice of a lifetime
mate, you must take full responsibility for your choice and all the
consequences
that come with your
decision.
~~~
Providing marriage
prospects is God’s responsibility, but choosing a mate is yours. Rely on the
assistance of the
Holy Spirit, but do not attempt to transfer the responsibility of choice to
Him.
~~~
How much have you
refined your separateness and uniqueness from others’? A relationship is only
as good as what the
individuals involved bring to it.
~~~
If you are able to
grasp the revelation of the difference between being “single” and being
“alone,”
then you will never
despise the state of being unmarried, and you will not marry based on wrong
reasons.
~~~
Until you get to the
state of being
totally whole,
totally unique, and totally separate—with the knowledge that you don’t need
anyone to
complete you—you are
not ready to marry.
~~~
If you do not yet
know who you are, then why do you think you will “find yourself” with someone
else?
~~~
When you reach out
frantically to others for the wrong motives, you will exploit and use them
sexually,
financially, or emotionally to meet your own needs without ever caring about
theirs.
~~~
Many have set
marriage and “living happily ever after” as their goal in life. The goal of the
Christian is to
become the separate, unique, and whole person the Lord wants him or her to be,
and
the vessel that will
hold the Treasure, which is Jesus.
~~~
How you use time
determines your life. You are what you do with time.
